Good things happen

Even if it was nice when your parents were together - sometimes good things can happen when parents separate. Maybe at the moment you can't find anything good. That's okay. When parents stop living together it can hurt and you might not be happy for a while. Maybe later you might feel that some good things have happened after the change.

My parents stopped fighting and now they get along better; that makes me feel a lot happier.

I have two houses now and that's very exciting.

My parents seem to have more time for me. Before they were always so busy with themselves.

Everyone seems to be more relaxed.

We have more space and I don't have to share a room with my brother anymore.

Maybe some good things will happen after your parents separate. Because everything feels so confusing or you are sad it can be hard to see the good things at the time. For a lot of kids it takes a while to see the positives.
